Your own page on the website
Everyone who has played an hour or more has a page: fuel fed, hours and wipes across every wipe, where you stand this wipe, the titles you earned and, if you linked Discord, your Discord picture and city roles. Share it: the link shows your keeper card in Discord and anywhere else.
A leaderboard for a small server
The first keeper on top, everyone else in a clear table, every name a link to their page; while the ledger is short it shows the empty places and how to claim one.
The Wipe Chronicle
When a wipe ends, the city writes its story on the website: the first loss, everyone the city lost (with the way to the Memorial Wall), how hot the Furnace burned, the laws the council passed, the storms, the research and the keepers who fed the fire, day by day. Each wipe also gets its own post on our Discord to talk about how it went.
New Discord commands
/meshows your keeper card (link your account first with/link),/lootwhat the far crates give out in the Outer Frost and the Deep Frost.Titles
What you do for the city is remembered from winter to winter. Feed the Furnace, walk the Deep Frost, work the Captain's orders, fight off raiders, give to the stores, pass laws: over several wipes you earn titles like Stoker, Pathfinder, Warden or Elder. Wear one by talking to the Steward in the Council Hall. Your title shows before your name in chat, on the website and on Discord, and it helps: cheaper goods of its kind, and an ability of its own (a Stoker is warmed by feeding the Furnace, a Pathfinder finds the way home in a whiteout, a Warden hears of raids early). Newcomers are Greenhorns for their first hours, with cheaper food and warm clothes. Titles are never sold.
The all-time board remembers everything
Fuel you fed the Furnace before the all-time record began now counts, and short first visits show up on the board too.
The Memorial Wall
On the edge of the plaza, across from the Council Hall, the city now keeps a wall of old photographs for everyone the cold has taken this wipe. Each photograph shows the person as they were, in the clothes they died in and with the tools of their trade, and a hand-written note under it gives their name, the day they died and what they did for the city. The city's own people get a page from a notebook; players who froze to death get a luggage tag. The oldest names move to paper strips at the sides.
Pay your respects
Stand in front of the wall and press E to leave a sprig of pine, once a day.
The wall on the website
The new Memorial Wall page shows everyone the city has lost this wipe, and the Live city page shows the newest four. If you would rather not be named there or on the wall, type /memorial hide in game.
Last Light
Before you head out past the wall, visit the Lamplighter's table on the plaza. For 30 Heat Credits he lights a lantern in your name. If the Frostlands take you while it burns, two Lantern Runners walk out to your body, take back part of what is still on you and carry it home to his table: half near the wall, a third in the Outer Frost, a fifth in the Deep Frost. Whoever killed you still gets three minutes with your body first, and what others took stays taken. No runners if you killed yourself or your own team killed you.
The city's notes
Every morning the city pins three notes on the new notice board by the Council Hall: feed the Furnace, finish jobs, keep the Waystation fires fed or hunt. Everyone's work counts, the city workers' too, so even a handful of players can do it. Each note met is torn off the board and pays Heat Credits to everyone playing and everyone who helped; meet them all by dusk and the heat ring burns wider that night. Read them at the board, with /goals, or on the website's Live city page.
The frost bands on the map
The map in game now shows where the Outer Frost (450 m from the Furnace) and the Deep Frost (900 m) begin, as dotted rings round the city with their names at the top. The website's map shows the same rings; click one to see what the crates hold out there, or switch them off.
The Furnace breathes
Its steam comes faster when the city feeds it well and slower when it runs low. When it is about to fall a stage, two of the plaza's searchlights start to flicker and the chat warns you. If it does fall, half the searchlights go out and, at night, the street fires go dark from the wall inwards. Feed it well and it all comes back on, from the middle out, and the city hears who fed it. On a normal quiet day the city stays fully lit.
A quieter #city-events
When the cold takes several citizens, Discord gets one post naming them all instead of one each, and the end of an event is a single short line under it.
Times in your own time zone
On Discord the council vote's close, the time left on an event and the Great Storm show in your own time zone and count down by themselves.
/commands on Discord
Lists every command, the bot's and the ones to type in game.
Letters to the heater
There's a post on the plaza now. Ask Postmaster Wendel for letter paper, write on it, and drop it in the post box. Choose who it goes to, slip a few Heat Credits in if you like, and the post walker carries it to their Steam Radiator, even while they're offline. They read it with E on their radiator and keep the letter. Letters only reach homes whose heater is on the city's steam.
